    The department was established in 1964, since then it has contributed many sportsmen to the nation. The fastest man of India, Olympian Mr. Anil Kumar, former Mister India Mr. Anil Kumar and former Indian basket ball team caption Murali Krishnan are true examples for that.

    In the beginning, the college sports infrastructure was limited to a multipurpose outdoor ground where all games were conducted. With time it was increased to multipurpose indoor training facility, outdoor basketball court, Ball badminition court, cricket nets, table tennis tables, weight training facility and health club facilities.

    The former physical education director was Mr. C.K. Kurvila, he served the college and the department till 1986. Then onwards some eminent sports trainer joined the college and have served the college.

Our Guru

Sree Narayana Guru, one of the greatest revolutionary social reformers Kerala has ever produced, was born on August 20, 1856, in a humble cottage in Chempazhanthy, a village near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, as the son of Madan Asan and Kutty Amma. Madan Asan was a farmer as well as a teacher, with proficiency in Sanskrit, Astrology and Ayurveda, and his son, the little Nanu grew up listening to his narrations of the stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharatha to the local residents of the village.

Our Founder

T. K. Madhavan (1885-1930) was an Indian social reformer, journalist and revolutionary who was involved with the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP). He came from Kerala and led the struggle against untouchability which was known as Vaikom Satyagraha.
