    The department of Statistics came into existence in 2008. The department offers complementary course in statistics to BSc. Mathematics students. Even though the BSc. Mathematics degree course started in 1982, the post for the lecturer in statistics was sanctioned only in 2008. Dr. Preeth. M was the founder HOD of the department, who got the appoinment in March 2008. The department has been very active in teaching and research The departmennt also took key roles in the management of the college such as All India Survey on Higher Education, conducting model examinations, Admission, Scholarships etc.

Our Guru

Sree Narayana Guru, one of the greatest revolutionary social reformers Kerala has ever produced, was born on August 20, 1856, in a humble cottage in Chempazhanthy, a village near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, as the son of Madan Asan and Kutty Amma. Madan Asan was a farmer as well as a teacher, with proficiency in Sanskrit, Astrology and Ayurveda, and his son, the little Nanu grew up listening to his narrations of the stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharatha to the local residents of the village.

Our Founder

T. K. Madhavan (1885-1930) was an Indian social reformer, journalist and revolutionary who was involved with the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP). He came from Kerala and led the struggle against untouchability which was known as Vaikom Satyagraha.
